Subject: (OT Fanfic) Host of the Federation's Twilight Date: Mon, 30 Oct 2000 23:30:21 GMT From: transcend@cybertown.com Newsgroups: alt.startrek.vs.starwars Chapter One Being the son of Sokar did not reward well, especially with the entire combined fleet of the System Lords after you. Already 20 worlds had been taken, many slaves lost, many Jaffa killed. Huitzilopochtli (which meant Transcendant One in an ancient Goa'uld dialect) knew his place among the System Lords was no more. His only hope did infact lie with his daughter So'naii (a Goa'uld Queen), who possessed the remainder of his fleet, his son Luk'aii, who was nearing maturity within a Jaffa host, and a small planet he had discovered a few years ago, a deserted planet, filled with rather well preserved technological artifacts. So far none had yet yielded anything that would ensure his survival. His daughter was onroute there this moment, with the last of his ships, a dozen Pyramid ships. The device on his wrist detected the ships arriving, 20 Goa'uld attack ships, come to finish him. He entered the sequence to travel to his secret redoubt into the Chaapa'ii. He placed a small device on the controls, only after he and his guard had entered the ring, and it had deactivated, would an explosion rock through the stargate destroying it, and destroying a large part of this world. He, the Transcendant One stepped into the shimmering gateway and vanished, followed by his guards. The stargate closed, and was destroyed. Huitzilopochtli stepped from the stargate, his secret world, filled with secret ancient technologies. So far none had helped him defeat the System Lords, but he was sure his salvation was here. His daughter and his ships had not yet arrived, they would take a few days yet. He hoped that they had not been tracked by the others. He began to oversee the workers digging open the sealed chambers holding great secrets. -3 days later- The ships arrived, all in horrible shape. He set his slave force to begin repairs on the great ships. Meanwhile he dug through the technologies he had found. One had proved to be a great power source, but was incompatible with Goa'uld technology and was abandoned. Another seemed to be some kind of holographic recording and projecting device, equally useless. "Did these people have no weapons!", he shouted angrily. He looked at the final device, recently uncovered. It looked vaguely familiar but he was certain he had never seen it's like before. Suddenly he realised, it's technology, while somewhat unfamiliar to him, seemed to be based on similar technology to the stargate. In fact, as he looked at it, he could see that perhaps it fitted to the top of the control device. He walked over to the stargate and placed the device he found on the controls. There was a small click, as he had suspected it fit into the controls of the stargate, but for what purpose? He puzzeled at the device, the writings on it were useless to him, as they were in no known language. He touched the stone on the top, and suddenly his mind was filled with possibilities. The device showed him countless realities, many with the Goa'uld, many without. He felt the scope of it's power, one thought and it could transfer all of his ships, all of his Jaffa, his family, and himself into another reality altogether. The perfect escape from the System Lords. He disconnected from the device, and cleared his head. He smiled as he knew what he would accomplish, escape from the System Lords, and a chance to remake them, in his own image. However the System Lords must not be able to follow him, which meant this entire planet, and it's many technologies would have to be destroyed. It would take a few days to get all the devices into place. He had until then to discover what universe would suit his needs. -Federation Space, two months after BoBW- Captain Picard sat in his usual chair in his ready room. Finishing the log entry he sat back to enjoy his cup of Earl Grey tea. A frown came over his face as he noticed the tea was decidedly cold. He made a note to have Geordi take a look at the replicator, it hadn't really been up to par since the Borg assault. He picked up a datapad and look at what was displayed on it.The fleet was at an all time low, large numbers of ships had been destroyed by the Borg, too many. Some Federation worlds were even considering withdrawing membership in order to not provoke the Borg. Of course they knew nothing of the threat the Borg truly were, that breaking free of the Federation would gain them no defense. The Cardassians were back at their usual bullying, and it look as if another border conflict might heat up. He put the datapad back on his desk, hoping this latest diplomatic mission would be a success. The world of Camdria IV was one of the major worlds that were considering a withdrawal from the Federation. With any luck he would convince them that the best hope for their survival did infact lie with Starfleet. Memories flooded back of the Borg assault, of his time as Locutus of Borg. His knowledge had alone nearly destroyed the Federation, had destroyed a large part of the Fleet. He shuddered at the thought of all those deaths and assimilations that weighed heavy on his mind. Would the galaxy ever forgive him? Could he even forgive himself? Maybe he needed a visit with Counselor Troy, although he wasn't sure it would set a good precedent for the Captain of a Federation starship to require counseling in the first place. Suddenly a message arrived, the Ambassador was ready to return to the ship, the people of the planet below had decided. They were withdrawing from Federation membership and taking their twelve colonies with them. Chapter 2 The Goa'uld ships had indeed tracked Huitzilopochtli's forces to the small planet to which he had fled. 20 Goa'uld Motherships closed in to finish the work they had started, wiping out the line of Sokar. He didn't have time to think, the timetable had been disrupted. He quickly went to the new device on the stargate's controls. Touching the stone on the top his mind flooded with possibilities. Preferably the perfect universe for him would have no powerful enemies, but he didn't have time to ensure that. His mind latched onto the first universe without the Goa'uld he could find. Suddenly the ring on the stargate began spinning, all the chevrons lit up brightly, suddely a bright white light came out of the top of the device and seized his forces, suddenly they were gone. The white light pulsed again, and he was gone. The next light that was seen were the naquada bombs going off, one near the stargate, the rest set along the rich naquada deposits of this world. The chain reaction caused the entire planet to explode, taking several ships belonging to the System Lords with it. -alternate universe, Romulan neutral zone- A bright flash enveloped the small uninhabited blue-green planet. Suddenly the surface had new residents. Huitzilopochtli looked around, uncertain if the transfer had even taken place at first. But it was true, the world around him had changed, and no enemy ships were in orbit. His slaves were sent out to discover the resources of this world. Luckily the planet was rich in naquada, as the former planet had been. It would make a fine resource base for his rise to power. -Romulan vessel, near the Neutral Zone- "Commander", the sensor operator called, "I have detected what appears to be a massive subspace surge in the neutral zone." The Commander immediately suspected the Federation was up to something, and ordered the ship cloaked. A course was set, into the neutral zone. -U.S.S. Kirk NCC-4799, near the neutral zone- "Captain", called the young .Lt at Ops, "I am detecting what appears to be some sort of subspace anomaly in the neutral zone." The Captain felt the Romulans had to be up to something. He was a bit of rouge but then that's probably why his ship was just a medical transport, even so he ordered the ship into the neutral zone. The Romulan ships arrived first, the commander upon detecting structures on the surface beamed down to investigate while the ship remained cloaked. His troops, upon seeing the humans who appeared to make up the Goa'uld force, immediately thought it was a secret Federation base. The commander was about to activate his communicator when he heard a sound behind him. Swiftly he turned around, only to get a slight glance at some armored figures before he went unconscious from what felt like an electric shock. The Jaffa put their Zat'nik'tels away, their jobs complete, then carried the Romulans to thier master. When the Romulans awoke they found themselves before an impressive looking individual. "My slaves tell me you are not compatible hosts for some reason, however you will make excellant Jaffa", he said. His eye's flashed with a glowing light, and the Romulans suddenly learned the true nature of fear. Suddenly a strange gas came out of the mouths of nearby statues, inhaling the gas it was mere moments before they were the obedient and loyal servants of Huitzilopochtli. They had inhaled the Nishta. Huitzilopochtl smiled.
